I am relatively new to the world of duck hunting, 2007 was my 6th year of water fowl hunting. The idea to invent the Butt Kicking Decoy hit me last year while I was scouting the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River Basin for new hunting areas. Something two hundred yards up stream caught my eye. I saw a commotion and splashing on the water. As I got closer I realized it was a pair of mallards, a drake and a hen, trying to feed on something that was just out of their reach below the surface of the water. Their bodies were in a butt up position moving back and forth and their feet were coming clear out of the water splashing every time they kicked. It was a site to see. That was the moment it hit me! If someone could imitate that exact movement with a motorized
decoy it would be awesome! The concept of the Butt Kicking Decoy was born!
We hunted with the prototype this year and what a difference it made. The weather has been very warm on the eastern flyway this year and ducks have been hard to come by. The ones we did have were call shy and very wary. If not for the Butt Kicking Decoy we would have come home empty handed may times.
